Well now that I am back from the NAHBS I was glad to get back to the shop. My current project is my new triple top tube (previously double) 29er MTB. So far I have the entire frame tacked together, out of the jig and ready for final brazing. This particular frame is going to be pretty interesting to not only finish braze, but also to clean up. Having the triple top tubes is going to make cleaning up all of those brass fillets pretty much a pain in the rear. When the frame is finished my hope is that all of those curves and a fillets give it a very organic feel.
curvey tubesThe best part about today, I got a phone call at lunch from my Dad wanting to see if I could meet him at the trail head at Castlewood and take his new frame for its inaugural off-road ride. How could I refuse? It was a beautiful ride with the trails nearly completely dry. It really seemed he enjoyed his new ride. Of course considering what he came from, nearly anything would be an improvement.
Today was also my first GORC (Gateway Off-Road Cyclists) meeting. While so far I have only managed to go to one trail maintenance day since I came back to St. Louis, my goal is to hopefully become more active in the organization
