So much going on right now I have been extremely guilty of ignoring this blog! If you are new to my site, Welcome! If you are a returning visitor, Welcome Back! For all of you old friends you might have noticed some... remodeling. The old site was a little more hands on than I really liked and when it worked, it seemed to work great however when something went wrong I was clueless as to how to fix it (I would rather build frames than learn to code). So here I am on squarespace, and hopefully a much smoother ride.
Back to bikes, right now I have one in the jig and two in the pipe. The current project is a lugged road bike with stainless tubing. I love the look and corrosion resistance of stainless steel and this is going to be an extremely cool bike. One of the elegant properties of lugs is that they can be customized to give each frame a real sense if individuality.
On deck I have a full suspension 27.5" mtb for Tim and a 36" commuter for Mike. Yea, I said full suspension AND 36" (though unfortunately NOT a full suspension 36er...). I can now offer full suspension bikes using Ventana's rear end linkage. There is an additional charge of $1,100 for a full squish frame.
The 36" commuter is for Mike who happens to be over six and a half feet tall. Normally when you design around those big wheels you have to position the rider down between the wheels and run a negative rise stem to get the handlebars as low as possible. This ends up giving the bike some really weird looking proportions. With mike however, the bike almost looks normal, until you put it next a "typical" bike.
